Introduction to Organic Gardening Class
Learn how to grow food at home: experience planting cycles on the farm operations to maximize the experience. If interest exceeds 30 seats for this class, a second course may be offered on the alternating Saturdays.
• September 25– December 11 every other Saturday from 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
• Second course if needed October 2– December 18
• Classes will not be held on 11/13/2010 due to Fruit tree festival at Freedom Park, classes will resume the following week.
• Topics covered: planning, planting, compost, irrigation, perennials, protection, fertilizing, and harvest.
• Cost $175 per person
Community Farm Work Days:
Open farm Saturday's were a favorite of students from Florida Gulf Coast University and the community beyond! Volunteers enjoy working on the current needs of the garden through hands-on experience and help support the Garden at Eden through donations and spreading the word. These will be open times for volunteers to work within their skill limits.
• Saturdays (following Organic Garden class) 12:30 p.m. - 3 p.m.
• October 1 to December 11, 2010 every other Saturday.
• Cost Free! Donations always welcome.
Farm Tours:
Learn about organic gardening and what we are doing to support the mission statement of the Garden at Eden. Hay rides may be available. Dates can be set for “special group tours” or sponsors.
• Saturday ~ September 18, 2010. 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
• Saturday ~ January 8, 2011. 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
